"Chris, thankyou! Not only for today, but also for all the other times when we'd have been really stuck without your good common sense and the excellent care you give when assisting people, most especially on hospital visits. Bedale and the surrounding area should consider themselves very fortunate to have a service of this specialised calibre. You are exactly what you claim to be! Thanks again"
Pauline, Bedale

"What a amazing inspiration of a gentlemen so kind and what a thoughtful thing to do in Bedale to open a company that help the people in need. Thank you so much"
Emma Horner, Bedale

A CARE worker who was made redundant decided to go it alone to help provide transport for elderly and vulnerable people.

Chris Caldwell launched Take Care Taxis Bedale, particularly aimed at people who have greater needs. He formerly worked at The Dales Centre in Bedale, a place for the elderly and vulnerable to meet, collecting and dropping people off who otherwise would struggle to get to the centre.

But The Dales Centre recently closed because of financial problems and Mr Caldwell, 37, from Crakehall, Bedale was made redundant.

“I was contemplating what to do next and it became apparent how much I had enjoyed working with the people at The Dales Centre and what a real need there is for Special Transport like this which provides Extra Care and Support, & so Take Care Taxis was born ” said Mr Caldwell.
